When an Omaha-Area assisted living facility experienced water damage recently, they knew to call the SERVPRO of Sarpy County team.  Our crew arrived within the hour to begin the cleanup process.  We began by sealing off the affected area to prevent contamination spread to the unaffected areas of the facility and to ensure the residents were not impacted.

Since the facility houses high-risk persons, our crews wore full PPE and utilized a dedicated access point to the building to better protect client health and well-being.

The facility manager was very pleased with recovery process, commenting "that's why we always call your team".

Smoke Damage Cleanup - Upholstery Cleaning

11/8/2019 (Permalink)

Our Fire Team Crew Chief, Kay, specializes in upholstery cleaning furniture that has smoke damage.  She oversees pack outs of properties with fire damage or smoke damage

Humidity from the water used to put out the fire turns the soot residue form the fire very acidic, so our main priority in cleaning smoke damaged contents is to neutralize the acidic soot particles.  Ince cleaned by hand, the items are processed through an ozone chamber, either on-site or at our facility.  The ozone chamber finalizes the cleaning process and deodorizes the smoke-damaged items.

Halloween Safety in Omaha, NE

10/28/2019 (Permalink)

Yard with Halloween decorations This photo shows about 2/3rds of our Production Manager's yard as he is decorating for Halloween.

Adults and children alike look forward to October for one reason, Halloween. The candy, decorations, and costumes create a fun environment. Most of those that work at SERVPRO of Sarpy County have children of their own and enjoy the holiday season, being seasoned vets, they have multiple tips for October 31st. Make sure the costumes fit correctly and make adjustments if need be, as well as test out any make up to make sure your children don’t have a reaction. Be conscious of any long fabric hanging from the costumes, these can catch on decorations and tear. Don’t be afraid to skip the one lit house on a dark road, if you’re in a large group go together or not at all. Lastly, Check the candy, check for any candy that the kids may have allergic reactions to or any candy that may have been opened. Don’t be afraid to keep the good stuff for yourself!

If you have too much Halloween candy left over, call the experts at SERVPRO of Sarpy County at 402-291-3355;  we are always here to help.
